Thursday It was raining in this morning in Clay Center when we got out of bed. It wasn't raining hard but enough to get wet. Someone suggested that it was only to settle the dust. By 9:00 am the rain had stopped and the sun started to peak out from behind the clouds. In just another hour the sky was bright and all rain had stopped. I went to Manhattan to meet Norma and Sherry (the other Directors) for lunch. As soon as I got to Manhattan, I remembered about the bad storm they had last night. There were leaves covering most of the streets. After a nice lunch in the Little Apple Brewery, I returned to the Bubbly Route on their way to Onaga. Onaga is a very small town in northeast Kansas that has been a host to Biking Across Kansas several times before. We are looking forward to a enjoyable evening. The weight lifting class will be serving the meal tonight and tomorrow we will have a BAK breakfast served by the senior class parents. I just received a call from one of the leaders in Onaga and it seems that the superintendent didn't want us in the gym. The principal said it was OK and our agreement was to use the gym. After several phone calls and a visit with the superintendent by route leader Cranston Cederlind all was worked out. Tomorrow the Bubbly route will travel past a rest stop at Buck's Grove "The Little Country Church", over and through some road construction to Holton for lunch. then on to Valley Falls and then down to the M&M stop before completing the day in Oskaloosa. A full day and in Oskaloosa they will meet the other two routes for the final evening together.
