Report: June 14

All three routes were combined today as BAK 2003 ended at the Missouri border east of La Cygne. Riders encountered some of the hilliest and scenic stretches they had seen all week, but the mileage was less than 50 miles today. There was a long line at the Kansas/Missouri border sign with cyclists lining up to take a commemorative photograph.Nearly 1000 cyclists enjoyed a picnic lunch at end of the ride celebration at La Cygne Lake.

Now that it's all over, we can say with certainty that 2003 was one of the best years in BAK history. The mild weather, favorable winds, rural scenery and good people made for a memorable bicycle trip across Kansas.
