The winds
were gusty today and mostly in our favor, but when the wind was from
the side, BAK riders had to keep a tight hold on their handlebars to
keep their bikes going straight.
All three routes converged for a while this afternoon, continuing on
Hwy. K-9 to Blue Rapids where the "A" route was staying. The
"B" riders went on to Marysville and the "K" riders
are in Frankfort tonight.
The towns
along the way went all out, with free popsicles in Clifton, a great
lunch in Barnes and ice cream in Waterville. Despite the hot winds,
it was a great day to be bicycling through Kansas.
Tomorrow, all three routes converge and stay together to Hiawatha through
the end on Saturday.
